Wow, what a difference a few weeks can make! Weāre energized by a collective shift in the election mood, refocused on doing the work, while looking to artist activists to guide us.

Despite this monthās market swings, ultimately we saw little changeājust a reminder that volatility is part of the ride. So, donāt watch the daily drama; keep your focus on the long-term.
Weāre expecting volatility, so if youāre feeling shaky, revisit our evidence-backed reminders in our Down Market Resources.

Structure Your Wealth Around Your Values
To enliven our efforts for a very different outcome in 2024, weāre revisiting the art made to support the 2016 election.
If you need some activism energy, check out the deeply relevant video, The Power of Your Vote (above), made by Portland photography superstar Carrie Mae Weems for the 2016 election.
FROM THE TEAM
For our birthday celebration, we headed to downtown favorite MĆ„urice for a fabulous meal of Maine oysters, delicious farm fresh salads, a raspberry tomato soup with allium ice cream (!!), albacore, and for dessert Georgia had the pleasure of pronouncing āWe'll have one of everything.ā Seems an appropriate way to celebrate nine years! š
modernist TAKES it outside
Give a listen to a recent ep of the So Money podcast; Georgia and Farnoosh had a blast talking about:
š° How to invest when politics feel scary (hint: keep working your plan AND give your time and/or money to organizations shoring up democracy!)
š° Whether or not to pay down a mortgage.
š° How to prepare your cash flow for a new child in your family.
FUND YOUR HEROES
In the wake of multiple attacks on the Lan Su Chinese Garden here in Portlandās Old Town, we want to remind you to visit and support one of our favorite spaces!
Mark your calendar for their Mid-Autumn Moonlight Market August 31st and September 1st.

Known for her arts advocacy work hear her on OPBās Think Out Loud discussing her 2020 book Walking in the High Desert.
Of driving east in Oregon she wrote: āthe palette changes from the muted browns, grays, and ochres of the sage to bright green, evidence of spring melt and a water table that sits just below the surface of the miles and miles of pancake-flat fields.ā
A SONG THATāS REALLY ABOUT financial planning
We canāt resist the song of the momentā¦
Singin', freedom / Freedom / Where are you? / 'Cause I need freedom, too
I break chains all by myself / Won't let my freedom rot in hell
Hey! I'ma keep running / 'Cause a winner don't quit on themselves
