JULY NEWSLETTER | Modernist Turns 9! š
Hi friends,
Modernist turned another year older this month! š„³
Since our founding in 2015, each July we pause for our birthday and reflect on our efforts to move the needle on wealth inequality. Weāre sharing a look at our 2023 impact alongside action items to help guide your generosity work, too.
Our biggest thanks to our fabulous clients, partners, advocates, and teamāwithout you, we couldnāt do this critical work.
Hereās to many more years of good work,
Georgia + Team Modernist
investment insights
The news has been chock full of drama with markets contributing their own stories of strong growth In Q2. We saw inflation begin to ease, without triggering the much-threatened recession. And, of course, the new Blackberry aka NVIDIA dominated the news.
Over on our blog, watch a 15-minute video or read our Q2 2024 Market commentary.
Structure Your Wealth Around Your Values
Our 2023 Impact Report is here! Thanks to our teamās diligent tracking (a requirement and benefit of being a B Corp!), we can easily pull data to see how our impact efforts compare to last year.
We couldnāt help but jazz up the data with more Modernist equivalenciesāso yes, weāre measuring in raw oysters and Kraftwerk classicsā¦
FROM THE TEAM

modernist TAKES it outside
Portland Business Journal named Modernist #43 on its list of Money Management Firms in the PNW! Always nice to be recognized in our industry, especially as we continue to cause good trouble from within it. š¤ā”

A SONG THATāS REALLY ABOUT financial planning
We often hum Kraftwerkās catchy song Pocket Calculator while we calculate the present value of future streams of incomeābut who doesnāt, right?
I am adding / And subtracting
I'm controlling / And composing
I'm the operator with my pocket calculator
All hail our trusty financial calculators and their many functions!
